Ursus Grit
Ursus Grit
Two original woodcut prints** have been created in this colour scheme. Each is unique in the amount of ink coverage, and they are shown in order from 1/2 to 2/2. 1/2 is more blue than 2/2. They are called "Ursus Grit" because the ink is highly textured and gritty.
Other colour variants: None, but the plate used for these prints was later carved to create Ursus Gust and Ursus Gust Red.
Size: 10 x 14"
Prices are all for UNFRAMED work, but you can frame this piece yourself for $14.99 using a 15 3/4" x 19 3/4" IKEA Ribba frame (shown here).
** Woodcut prints are created by carving an image into a wooden/MDF plate, then rolling ink over the plate and transferring the image onto heavy paper using a printing press. The result is an original piece of artwork that has the modern appeal of a screen-printed piece but with a more uniquely embossed texture. Some prints can look more like oil paintings depending on the printing and inking techniques used. To learn more about the printmaking process, check out our XXXX page.
