This mixed media piece was created by combining leaf-embossed paper with washes of blue-grey paints and a woodcut print**.  It is the only one of its kind.

** Woodcut prints are created by carving an image into a wooden/MDF plate, then rolling ink over the plate and transferring the image onto heavy paper using a printing press.  The result is an original piece of artwork that has the modern appeal of a screen-printed piece but with a more uniquely embossed texture.  Some prints can look more like oil paintings depending on the printing and inking techniques used.  To learn more about the printmaking process, check out our XXXX page.
